Merry Christmas!

Well at this time next year we will have a baby! Crazy!! So, now all of the family pretty much knows and everyone is really excited for us. I think I will finally tell people at work and my students when I go back to school after break.

First official doctor's appointment

Well, today was my first "official" appointment with my actual doctor. Things went really well. She was really sweet and took lots of time to answer all my questions and reassure me. And even though I wasn't planning on having another ultrasound today, she had them do one anyways because she knew I would feel better about everything being able to see the baby and hear the heartbeat again. The baby actually looks more like a baby now. You can tell which end is the head, and see the beginnings of little hands and feet. It was so adorable!

Heard the heartbeat!

Went in for yet another ultrasound today, and this time I actually heard the heartbeat. It was the most beautiful sound in the world! I'm so glad that every thing is okay with our little one. I still can't get over the fact that there is actually a baby growing inside me. Sometimes the whole thing is just so surreal! We got another pic of the baby looking like a little jellybean. Aww..so cute! :)

Today I got to see the heartbeat! It was so exciting and it's just so amazing to think that there is actually a little heart beating inside of me! I can't get over it. Sounds corny, but it really is such a miracle! We also got a pic to take home - our first baby picture - yay! :)

First sonogram

Well the first ultrasound was today. We got to see the little sac that will eventually be the baby, (and yes, it looks like there is only one baby!) but there wasn't really too much to see just yet. I am going to go in for another one next week, and hopefully will be able to see/hear the heartbeat!

more good bloodwork

Well the doctor wanted me to go in for more bloodwork, just to make sure that the levels are still looking good. Today's number was 2800ish, so everything is looking great! I am so happy that everything is going well with this pregnancy so far! I have an ultrasound scheduled for Friday, they said that now the levels are high enough that we should be able to see something on the ultrsound! So exciting - I can't wait!!! :)

Well today's levels were 336, so that is very promising! Levels more than TRIPLED in 48 hours. Does that mean that there is the possibility that there is more than one baby in there?? :)

Blood test confirmed it - I'm PREGNANT! :)

I had a blood test today to check my HCG levels. Results came back at 107 - I'm definitely pregnant! Now I need to go back in 48 hours to make sure that they double! Keeping my fingers crossed....

First gift for daddy-to-be :)

Pregnant!!!

Took a pregnancy test on a whim when I got up this morning. I wasn't really planning on testing yet, since I'm not even really "late", but I had a really good feeling about it. Joe was still sleeping when I took the test. I had faint lines on two line tests and "pregnant" on a digital!! When Joe woke up, I told him that I had a present for him. I wrapped up a onesie that says "My daddy's car is faster than your daddy's car". I think he was pretty shocked, but he really liked the onesie. We are both so happy!
