Liana is now two months old and it is hard to believe how much she has changed this past month. She is growing so quickly! We had her two week appt earlier this week and she weighs 13 lbs 11 oz and is 22.5 inches, so she's in the 95th percentile for her weight and the 50th for her height. She is pretty much into all 6 month clothes now, and even wearing some of the 9 month stuff. I can not believe how fast she outgrew all the 3 month stuff, I feel like she only wore it for like a week! I have already packed up two huge rubbermaid totes of clothes that she can't wear anymore. Besides growing like a weed, we have had some other big changes this month too. She started so smile and coo right around 7 weeks and it is the sweetest thing. She is developing a little personality and it's so fun to see. She wakes up every morning all smiles and it is so adorable.
Our biggest milestones this month have been sleep-related. She has started to sleep longer and longer streches at night and slept through the night for the first time when she was 7 weeks old. She was typically waking up once to eat around 2 or 3, but that night she slept from 9:30-5:30 am. She has been averaging about 7-8 hours of sleep at night ever since, so she will usually go to bed between 8 and 9 and then sleep until around 4 or 5, get up to eat and then sleep again until around 8 or 9. Last night, she had her best night of sleep yet - went to bed around 8:30 and slept straight through until 7:00. 10.5 hours!! It felt great to still be in bed at 7:00 this morning. I hate to tempt fate by saying it, but I am actually sleeping way better now than I did when I was pregnant. I was so uncomfortable at the end of my pregnancy that it was really hard for me to sleep. The other great thing is that Zoey has actually started to sleep longer in the mornings too. My little early riser who was usually waking me up between 5 and 6 am has started to sleep past 7 every day! Some days she even sleeps until 8. I am now convinced that the reason that she would get up so early in the morning was to be able to spend time with me before I went to work. I know it sounds kind of crazy, but I really think it's the case.
Since I am no longer getting up in the middle of the night, we decided to move her out of our bedroom. She still isn't in a crib in her own room, she is sleeping in the Rock N Play in the other first floor bedroom (the toy room). It was just getting hard when she went to bed around 8:00 and then we would have to try to be so quiet and not disturb her when we went to bed, couldn't watch TV in there, etc. Part of me was a little sad not to have her in the same room next to me, but she is so close that I can hear her without even really needing a monitor. But I still have the video monitor, so I can still wake up and just look at the monitor to check on her. I love that thing! It is definitely one of the best baby purchases that we made with Zoey and so worth the money.
There isn't too much else to report for this past month. The dr. had advised us to really limit taking her out for the first two months until she had her shots and it wasn't right in the middle of cold and flu season, so we have pretty much just stayed in the house. But we went to our first big birthday party yesterday since my nephew turned four. And this morning we even made it to church and she did great! So I am definitely looking forward to getting out and about more this coming month since being cooped up in the house all day has been the hardest part. I think that we may even try to make it to music class this week. We will see. I have found that getting out of the house with two kids on any kind of schedule is quite an ordeal. Hopefully it will get easier the more we do it.
