cankles! :(

I posted yesterday about having to take off my rings because my hands are so swollen. Well, now the problem is spreading to my feet too. I'm a teacher so I'm pretty much on my feet all day, so there is really no getting around it. When I got home from work yesterday, my feet were so swollen that there was a huge "sock line" indent from my socks digging into my swollen ankles all day. When Joe came home, he commented on my "cankles" :( I didn't even know that he knew that word! He was so sweet though and rubbed my feet for me. At this rate, I am worried about how I am going to make it to the end of the school year. If I am this swollen already, I can only imagine how I am going to feel come June. Do you think that "cankles" is a legitimate reason to stop working? :)

had to take my rings off :(

My hands have been swelling lately and I finally decided that it was time to take off my rings. I could still get them on and off, but I was worried about waiting too long because my sister in law did that last year and ended up having to have them cut off. Yikes! Now my finger feels so naked! :( I may have to look into getting some sort of cheapy replacement because I really don't like not wearing any rings. It just feels so weird, and I have this weird paranoia thing about people thinking that I am an unwed mother!

We went over to Joe's grandparent's house for his dad's b-day and they gave us an "early Easter present". It's the Fisher Price Rainforest bouncy seat. It is SO adorable! I was so excited because this is the first real baby item that we have (besides a few little outfits). Having baby stuff in the house makes it seem even more real. SO exciting!!

felt the baby from the outside! (22 weeks)

It felt like I was waiting forever to start feeling movement, but now that it's started it seems like it progressed fairly quickly from flutters to pretty strong kicks. I've been feeling very definite kicks for about two weeks now, but last night as I was watching TV, I could feel a few kicks from the outside of my belly. It was so exciting! I love feeling our little one moving around in there, it's the greatest feeling ever. Joe wasn't able to feel it though :( Of course as soon as I ran in the other room and told him, the baby decided to settle down. Hopefully he will be able to feel it soon.

felt baby kick! (20 weeks)

Today I felt the baby kick for the first time! It was right in the beginning of my 5th period class and I was standing at the front of the room explaining the plan for the day, when all of a sudden I felt a very definite kick. At first it took me by surprise because it was so much stronger than any of the flutters that I have felt up to this point. But when I realized that it was the baby that I felt I was so excited! Yay for baby kicks! :)

halfway point!

Wow, I can't beleive that I am 20 weeks and that I am at the halfway point of my pregnancy already! The baby is the size of a cantelope now - that's SO crazy to think about! The time has really been flying by. I hope the next 20 weeks goes by as quickly - I can't wait to meet our little one! :)
