38 week appointment

This morning I had my weekly doctor appointment. I had a sonogram, so Joe went with me, but it was actually pretty uneventful. The baby was in a lazy mood so we didn't really see anything all that exciting. She checked the heartbeat and measurements and everything looked good, but there wasn't really any movement going on, so we didn't see anything too thrilling. We didn't even get a picture to take home. But, everything looks good with our little one. I am measuring pretty much right on schedule, and baby's estimated weight it 8lbs 1oz! That seems big to me!! She said it is in the 73rd percentile. At this point the baby will gain about 1/2 lb every week, so I'm hoping that I don't go too much longer - 8lbs is big enough for me!
After the sonogram, I met with the doctor and she examined me and said that everything looks great. Baby is in the position that it should be right now, but is still sittting very high. I am about a fingertip dialated and 70% effaced. But she said that doesn't really mean anything because she's had patients that were only a fingertip dialated and went into labor that night, and then others that were a few centimeters dialated for a few weeks before they went into labor. I guess only time will tell...
