I'm almost scared to post it because I don't want to jinx myself. But...for the past two nights, Zoey has gone to sleep with
no crying!! :) When I put her in the crib, she would give a little bit of protest, but it was more of a "fake cry" and never escalated. Both nights she had quieted down before I even left the room. Hallelujah - she has learned to go to sleep on her own! I am now a believer in Ferber. I never would have thought that I would be saying that, but here I am. Like I said before - never say never! I'm sure that there will be many more times in this journey of motherhood when I will find myself doing something that I swore I would
never do. Oh well....you live, you learn, right?

That's great Amy! I hope it keeps working for you! I've heard of this method. Haven't read the book though. I've tried something like that myself with Brady for daytime naps, with no success...unfortunately! We can't do anything like that at night b/c he gets a bottle at 8 or 8:30 and b/c of reflux needs to stay upright for 20-30 minutes after feeding and he falls asleep in the chair, upright, before we could ever put him down awake! BUT, he's been sleeping through the night for us and/or only wakes once or twice and simply putting his binky in his mouth puts him back out. Maybe when he's older or the reflux is a little better, we can give it a try. But, I give you A LOT of credit and wish you the best of luck with it!
